NFLJ just finished our Oita Debate Tournament on Sunday, June 14th at Asia Pacific Ritsumeikan University. Coming from all over the Kanto, Kansai and Kyushu regions, we are extremely proud of the debaters this weekend and the intelligence, hard work and preparation they displayed in making this tournament an outstanding success!
Congratulations to Urawa Prefectural (1st Place Team Award), St. Mary’s International School (2nd Place Team Award) and Nanako Amano (Best Speaker Award) from Shuyukan High School for winning prizes this weekend! We are excited to send off the top two teams to compete in the 2016 US National Tournament in Salt Lake City next year! As the NFLJ community grows, we are determined to send more students abroad to show that Japan has what it takes to lead the world.
Thank you to all the judges, coaches, volunteers and students who made the competition a thoroughly enjoyable experience! Without your support, this tournament would not have been possible.
This is a great start for the NFLJ organization and this tournament proves that our community can work together to forge new relationships, fresh ideas and stronger global leaders through debate.
Love you all, and we’ll see you next month at the Japan National Tournament!
